Christmas Fused Glass Paperweights/Decorations - Castlehill Heritage Centre
Designed for complete beginners, and those who have done a little fused glass before, during this class you will be taken through the steps to create a multi layered Christmas themed glass paperweight, or set of Christmas decorations! You will be led step by step through the process, including glass cutting, designing, filling your circle or star shaped mould, and decorating your glass with colourful Sheet Glass, Frits and Stringers.
During this class you can choose to make one larger Paperweight (15cm diameter) two smaller, (10cm diameter) a selection of smaller paperweights (which make for perfect stocking fillers!) or a set of Christmas decorations (around 6 depending on size)
Some technical information will be provided so you understand the process, but this is definitely still a fun and informal class!
Items will be fused in a kiln then returned by post/pick up arranged 1 week after class, so you'll get them well in time for Christmas 🎄 Course fee includes postage. Tea/coffee/festive treats will be served
Age 12 and up
Course Fee includes all instruction, materials, postage and refreshments!
Please note that no tickets are posted out, your name will be on the list :)
About your teacher!
A self confessed glass geek, Shelagh is a very experienced tutor, having taught both painting and glass internationally as well as in her own studio in Aberdeen (formerly known as Oil and Glass) since 2012. In 2013 Bullseye Glass (the manufacturers of the glass you will use in this session) invited Shelagh to their factory in Portland, Oregon, where she completed a week long instructors course. She absolutely adores teaching, and always makes sure that her sessions are very informative, but also lots of fun!
